FOR OUR ENGLISH-SPEAKING FRIENDS !

We are a couple with three children ( Faustine, 14 years, Maïlys, 15 years, Marceau 10 years, Claire - librarian- , 44 years, Alain - philosophy's professor -, 43 years)

We are living in a typical village in Camargue. This village is ideally situated in the “magical triangle” big cultural cities : ½ h from Arles Nîmes Montpellier. The Mediterranean beachesAigues Mortes,le Grau du roi…) are twenty minutes far away by a main road.

046_46Marseille is 1h30 from home by highway, Cannes is 3 hours, Monaco is 3h15. The French/Spanish border is 1h30 from the Cailar, Figueras ( The Dali's village) is 2 hours, Barcelone is 3h. It's very easy to go to Barcelone...it's our preferred week-end journey !

La Sagrada Familia ( Barcelone)

Let us to explained how to arrive to airports. Around the Cailar there are three airports. Montpellier and Nîmes-Garons are 30mm from the house, Marignagne ( near Marseille) is 1h30 from the house. If we have the pleasure to exchange with you we will find some solution and will let our car on the parking in the airport.

To exchange a car  ? No trouble about that. We have two cars ( five places each). It will be sure and secured to go to the beaches or the Pont du Gard !

In this village, there is a general store ( fruit, meats…), a baker’s shop.

This village is THE center of tradition of Camargue. For more details, look at the websites at the end this blog.

The house is rather large (250m²) with a garden (400m²) with fruits trees and there is enough rooms for 6 persons.

We have got three chickens which give us three eggs per days, and believe us, nothing is better than eating them under the tree, in the morning by watching the one « garden cat » wandering along and playing with our dog, Nada, a piece of love with fur around. You want to know more about our animals, and how to take care with them ? It’s quite easy, you know. Our white little dog is pure piece of love with fur around, fond with children and unable to exerce any discrimination between any humans: two legs and one articulated voice is, for her, a living emanation of god on earth. We have two cats. They live her life, indoor, outdoor, without attaching importance to us, full of disdain for mankind in their fucking glances. We give her something to eat each night in the cellar and let the window open. Our chickens are eggs-givers, and they recognize human voice. They eat the rest of our meal, the shells of their eggs (ugly…), anything, in deed. They don’t need any affection, just water enough, and can wander in the garden, or not, — as you like it.

Ok, I think everything has been told about our little friends. Resume : the dog could be your disciple, the cat won’t even know you are living on the same planet, the chicken will do “cot cot cot” and keep on being as stupid as they usually are with us.

The beaches are only 20 mm far away. When we let our job at the evening,  we go for bathing and making a pic-nic on the sand, alone in front of the sea and the sunshine ! But if you want stay at home, our house is particularly well adapted for children and « farniente » : many children games and toys, and the garden with fruit trees is a good place to gaze on the perfect blue sky by drinking slowly a refreshing glass of pastis without thinking about anything except nothing ! ( I tell you… Alain is philosophy teatcher :-) ).

The neighbourgs are very nice and ready to help as necessary. Muriel works at the tourist office of the Grau du roi city, and she’s the right woman at the right neighbouroud! and Albert is technician at the source Perrier ( the famous french water with gaz !!!) and fond of horses and bulls. They are very very discrete, absolutly nice and very accustomed to our exchange. The only trouble is …that they have an terrible southish french accent. Before 3 weeks, you will succeed in understanding them :-)

Enjoy charming and gorgous breakfasts under the figue tree ( even in with the new laids eggs of our four hens !!!!!).
